Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to 12 hungry children that would be raised together eventually, learned very early how to get out of the difficulties she faced with her incredibly imaginative imagination. Songs were written by her before she was able to write or read. Her first guitar was given to her at the age of eight. She began singing in a Knoxville Tenn station by the age of eleven. In the that same the year that Gold Band Records was a tiny independent record label. While still in highschool she established herself local, but longed for an even bigger stage. On the 14th of March, 1964, that followed her graduation from high school, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first single to reach the top of the charts for the first time on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated TV show required an additional singer around this time. Parton was offered the gig and in the year 1967, she signed with RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. In 1974, she resigned from Wagoner's Show because the success of her own songs such as Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was surpassing their joint albums. After their split, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it reached the top spot at No. It was the first time that a song hit the top spot.
